My 4 steps to bright, fresh smelling tea towels

Keep Your Tea Towels Bright and Fresh: My Top 4 Tips

Ah, tea towels - our quiet kitchen heroes.  We use them every day, but we can often take them for granted. But with a little TLC, you can keep your tea towels looking and smelling their best.

As you may know, all our tea towels are made from beautiful floursack cotton, which means they have a warmwhite base. But over time, they can start to lose their brightness and freshness.

So, here are my top 4 tips to keep your tea towels in top condition for longer.

Tip #1: Soak, Soak, Soak!

Once a week, take some time to soak your tea towels in warm water with a stain remover powder like Sard or OxyAction. This will help lift most stubborn stains and get your tea towels looking bright again.

Tip #2: Wash separately

After soaking, wash them separately on a normal cycle (no need for those long cycles!). Washing them separately is important, as overloading your washing machine can cause food residue to build up in the fabric fibres, making your tea towels less absorbent.

Tip #3: The Power of White Vinegar

White vinegar is a game-changer when it comes to keeping your tea towels fresh. Add a good splash to your wash, and it'll help neutralize any lingering odours. Simply pop it in the conditioner section, and you're good to go!

Tip #4: Add a Refreshing Scent

Why not add a few drops of your favorite essential oil into your wash to give your tea towels a super refreshing scent? I love using eucalyptus or tea tree oil - they're both amazing for their deodorizing properties, and they leave your room smelling lovely. as they dry!

There you have it - my top 4 tips to keep your tea towels bright and fresh.  By following these simple steps, you'll be extending the life of your tea towels and keeping them looking and smelling their best. Happy washing! x Beck
